Domingo the Drone over Vanier Park

Getting lots of air time with Domingo the drone this week.  Here is her view over Vanier Park and the entrance to False Creek.

Domingo the Drone visits the Innukshuk

The winter weather in Vancouver has been on the chilly side this year but fortunately not to the point where Domingo has to stay indoors. In this video I had an interesting perspective on the Inuit sculpture located down by English Bay.

Drone's Eye View: Vancouver Seaside

Another non-rainy day in Vancouver provided another opportunity to get some air time with Domingo. Because I live in Vancouver's West End, there are ample flying spots down by the ocean. I do have to be aware of the also ample small planes that fly over the city, many of them seaplanes going to and coming from Vancouver Island. So I keep my altitude low (usually under 30 metres) in order to adhere to drone flight regulations and to fly safely. Here is a video capturing a few of the scenes at this afternoon's practice spot:

Domingo's view of Stanley Park

An overcast day but no rain so Domingo and I headed into Stanley Park for some flight practice and video skill building.  Here is the resulting video:

Domingo heads out of town.

Domingo ventured out into the farmland of Maple Ridge today.  Because of the -5 C temps and potential interference from nearby powerlines she kept her altitude in check.  The view in the video is taken, for the most part, from 55 metres above the frozen ground.

Domingo: Vancouver in November

Domingo managed to squeak in a little air time between showers today. She gained a 100 metres in altitude today and, to the delight of her pilot, Domingo dutifully initiated a 'return to home' when the connection with the remote controler was briefly lost.  Good flying Domingo!
